Official Press Release & Exclusive Preview!
Zenescope Closes in on Milestone
Late in 2005 a small indie comic book from a small unknown publisher hit
stands for the first time. It was entitled GRIMM FAIRY TALES and no one, not
even the publishers themselves, could predict the amount of success the
brand new series would have in the ultra-competitive comic book market. But
two years later Zenescope’s popular GRIMM FAIRY TALES is fast approaching a
milestone 25th issue. Said series co-creator and co-writer Ralph Tedesco
“It’s been truly amazing the way this series has grown over the last couple
years. We had a pretty solid readership from the beginning and it continues
to grow monthly. We really want to thank the fans and retailers that stuck
with the ‘little comic that could’ this whole time and also the comic news
websites that continue to offer coverage to independent books such as this
one. We’ve had our share of shipping delays with some issues, which we are
always working on reducing, but we’ve always been committed to making sure
the quality is there every single issue and that we’re delivering a story
that compels our readers to return month in and month out.”
The other good news: GRIMM is back on schedule with issue #20 hitting stands
next Wednesday and issues 21 through 23 on shelves throughout late January
and early February.
Click here for an exclusive 6 page preview of Zenescope’s 25th
landmark issue which is scheduled for a late March release and is now
available for preorder through Diamond.
For every 25 copies ordered, retailers will also
receive a limited edition sketch over issue.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
Zenescope
Announces New Sinbad Title
Zenescope Entertainment, the company
known for putting new and interesting twists on well-known stories such as
with popular titles GRIMM FAIRY TALES and RETURN TO WONDERLAND, is doing it
yet again with a new upcoming fantasy/adventure series entitled 1001 ARABIAN
NIGHTS: THE ADVENTURES OF SINBAD.
The series will follow the legendary sailor, Sinbad, who has been unjustly
accused of murder and exiled from his home city. After putting together a
very eclectic but extremely capable crew Sinbad sets on his quest to find
the one artifact that can actually clear his name. But he must first
encounter numerous enemies ranging from armies of bloodthirsty men to
terrifying blood-curdling creatures in order to find the object he
ultimately must have.
“This is a classic hero we felt could really benefit from a cool and edgy
makeover” said series co-creator and Zenescope VP Ralph Tedesco.” We wanted
to re-imagine this character by adding a certain type of charisma, sort of
James Bond meets Captain Jack Sparrow in the embodiment of a pro wrestler.
Then put him in this awesome backdrop full of gorgeous women, dragons,
monsters, creatures...and did I mention gorgeous women?”
The ongoing series is scheduled for a May ’08 release with a preview issue
available in April. Dan Wickline (30 Days of Night, Blood-Stained
Sword) is writing; Eric Basadula, Talent Caldwell and and Al Rio are a
few names providing cover artwork for the series.

Here are a couple recent Zenescope press releases you might have missed…
Zenescope teams with best-selling
novelist Michael Marshall.
Zenescope Entertainment, the publisher of RETURN TO WONDERLAND and SE7EN,
has acquired the rights to the best-selling novel THE STRAW MEN. The
electrifying thriller is written by English novelist Michael Marshall and
Zenescope will be adapting it as both a comic book series
and graphic novel. The story follows Ward Hopkins, a seemingly average man
with a past so secret that not even he knows about it. After a
string of tragedies and murders, Hopkins begins to uncover a horrifying
secret - each event is related and he has a direct link to those
responsible. As he investigates his own past Hopkins realizes that he must
eventually come face to face with a terrifying network of killers.
No one knows who they are or why they kill- but they must be stopped and
only one man may have the ability to do so.
"The Straw Men is brilliantly written and scary as hell; it's a
masterpiece."
--Stephen King
Eisner nominated artist Brett Weldele is providing artwork for the series.
The first issue will contain 30 pages of story and carry a regular cover
price of $2.99. It is scheduled to hit stands in June '08.
Zenescope Releases Limited Edition
SE7EN Hardcover
Last year Zenescope Entertainment teamed up with New Line Cinema with the
goal to create an intense and extremely intriguing comic book
mini-series based off of the 1995 hit film SE7EN. After seven well received
issues and much critical acclaim, the series has been collected in a
visually stunning, yet disturbing hardcover graphic novel.
"The passion that the writers and artists put into this book has been truly
amazing," says Zenescope's VP Ralph Tedesco. "In order for this project to
really work we felt it was important for the creative teams we chose to be
huge fans of the film. We were able to find a lot of fantastic artists and
writers who were borderline obsessed with this movie and who wanted to be
part of what we were doing.
When David Mack (Kabuki, Daredevil) approached us to be involved, I think
that's when we really knew this was going to be a special project."
SE7EN is not a retelling of the now classic 90s film but acts as more of a
prequel, while also following the events leading up to the each murder
from the film version. The biggest twist, however, is that the events of the
novel are seen strictly through the eyes of John Doe, the notorious
serial-killer in the film.
The 216 page graphic novel includes all seven issues of the mini-series,
cover gallery, dust jacket and additional special feature artwork.
The Diamond order code is OCT07073926. The book is in stores now or available
online at

ZENESCOPE GRIMM FAIRY TALES VOL. 1 TPB SELLS OUT, 2nd PRINTING COMING

GRIMM FAIRY TALES REPRINT SHIPPING CHANGES
Due to an oversight, the Grimm Fairy Tales reprint editions, featuring
issues 1, 2 and 3 of the popular series, have been rescheduled. They will be
featured in Diamond Dateline online and will also be re-solicited in
December Previews.
We apologize for the miscommunication with Diamond regarding the status of
the books. While they had already been printed, a shorter cut-off date meant
a lapse in the order. We’re working together with them to expedite the
situation.
We really appreciate the patience of both fans and retailers who have shown
great support for Grimm Fairy Tales and Zenescope in general.

If you didn't have a chance to grab issue #1/2 of THE LIVING CORPSE in San
Diego or Chicago you can now read it right here online!
The first issue of the ongoing series is scheduled to rise from the grave in
time for Halloween and we're proud to be carrying this incredible title by
Buz Hasson and Ken Haeser. Here's a review for you guys to chew on... hope
it's tasty.
Another of my favorites... Both Ken and Buzz can draw supremely well with
the result being that their characters are expressive, their jokes work, and
their timing is excellent. I found myself genuinely sympathizing with their
undead protagonist, and that’s in a book that doesn’t for a second take
itself seriously! Grade: A
--Dan Head, Paperbackreader.com
For all you fans who stuck with us through the FINAL DESTINATION series, we
thank you for doing so. Issue 5 turned out great and I have to thank writer
Mike Kalvoda and of course the entire art team assembled on this project for
the great story and awesome illustration and colors that went into it. You
can get all 5 issues of the mini-series right now for pretty darn cheap so
do it would ya!?
By the way, The FINAL DESTINATION, SPRING BREAK trade paperback will also be
released in October and will include a limited edition short story entitled
SACRIFICE.
Guys, keep an eye out for WILLOW CREEK #0, which will be up in our store
soon. Issue #1 is slated for a January '08 release. CREEK is a 5 issue
miniseries that will feature classic story-telling with incredible artwork
by Josh Medors and remind people why werewolves are so much damn fun.
That's it for now, check in soon for more!
